A pioneering figure
A pioneering figure both on and off the pitch, Heyhoe Flint became one of the first female members of the MCC and later the first woman to sit on one of its committees. In 1976, she also led England Women in their first-ever match at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Renowned for her elegant batting, Heyhoe Flint averaged more than 45 across 22 Test matches and an extraordinary 58 in One-Day Internationals for England. Her unbeaten 179 against Australia in 1976 set a new world-record score at the time, and in 2010 she became the first woman to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
Beyond cricket, Heyhoe Flint was equally admired for her charitable work, serving as long-standing President of the Lady Taverners and inspiring generations through her passion, leadership and generosity.
