Three racecards for Winchester Races, the first printed both sides for the 23rd & 24th July meeting 1850, the others printed single-sided for the 20th and 21st June 1851 fixtures Winchester Races became the subject of a poem by Jane Austen composed in 1817. They were first held on Worthy Down in 1753 and racing took place there until 1896. Salisbury races had gradually become the predominant course in the region.
