Alexandre Clarys (1857-1920) RACEHORSE WITH JOCKEY UP ON A RACECOURSE (A PAIR) both signed, oil on canvas 85 by 105cm., 33 1/2 by 41 1/4in. Alexandre Clarys was the official artist to the Jockey Club in his native Belgium. The horses are depicted on the racecourses of Boitsfort and Groenendael and are therefore most probably Belgian Derby & St Leger winners.
