Three early team-group photographs, the first an official photograph of the Chesterfield Town team of 1906-07; the second an official photograph of the Sheffield Wednesday team of 1913-14; the other an aged reprinted photograph of Newbold White Star FC, each mounted, framed & glazed the first 29 by 38cm., 11 1/2 by 15in. The photograph of the local team Newbold White Star is made interesting by the presence of a young Sam Hardy, later the Chesterfield, Liverpool and England goalkeeper. Hardy was born at Newbold 26th August 1883 and signed for his local team Newbold White Star in 1899, before transferring to Chesterfield Town in the close season of 1902. His impressive performances attracted the attention of Liverpool FC who signed the goalie in May 1905 for £340.
