Alfred Bright (op. 1880-1929) WINDERMERE signed, titled & dated Eaton 1888, en grisaille, 31 by 44cm., 12 1/4 by 17 1/4in. Windermere was a chestnut filly foaled in 1870 by Macaroni out of Miss Agnes. Bright painted her when she was an eighteen-year-old broodmare at the Duke of Westminster's Eaton Stud near Chester, where she had also been foaled.
