She was known as 'The Queen of the Turf' and highlights of her race career include victories in the Goodwood Cup, Doncaster Cup (twice), Ascot Gold Vase & Chester Cup. At stud Alice Hawthorn also left her mark. She had 10 foals including Thormanby (by Melbourne or Windhound) who won the Derby in 1860.
