A Captain Cuttle racing plate, chromium plated and mounted on a velvet backboard with a photographic portrait of the racehorse with Steve Donoghue up and a name plaque, in an ebonised frame, 19 by 20cm., 7 1/2 by 8in. The 1922 Derby winner Captain Cuttle was a chestnut colt foaled in 1919 by Hurry On out of Bella Vista. He won three other races including the St James's Palace Stakes. Captain Cuttle was owned by Lord Woolavington, trained by Fred Darling and ridden by Steve Donoghue in The Derby.
