HOBBS Sir John Berry 'Jack' Hobbs played cricket for Surrey and England and was popularly referred to as 'The Master'. He was the only England cricketer to be selected as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the 20th century. He was born near Cambridge and in his youth played football during the winter in the Cambridgeshire F.A. region.
