A fine vintage croquet stand complete with two sets of croquet equipment and a set of wooden balls, the stand of mahogany and walnut construction with ball and claw feet, featuring a front and back storage facility, the front storage containing a complete competition rules specified set of croquet equipment, comprising: 6 wood & leather hoops with metal ground spikes, 4 wooden balls, in used condition, 4 hardwood mallets with leather grip handles, 4 boundary markers in wood, leather and brass, 4 corner markers in metal and leather, 1 mallet in hardwood with a leather handle, 2 marking guides in copper, brass, leather, in one unit, 1 starting post in wood & leather and with a metal ground spike, 1 finishing post in wood & leather and with a metal ground spike, 1 marker stake in wood, leather and brass, the back storage compartment contains a junior of ladies croquet set, lacking the original set of balls but including: 4 small headed wooden mallets, 4 corner flags in metal with leather finish, 1 mallet in wood and leather, 1 marker spike in wood, metal and leather, 1 starter post in wood and metal, 1 finishing post in wood and metal, the top of the stand is fitted with an unusual wood and leather book titled 'Illustrated Croquet Guide and Instructions' and enclosing a 5 page rule book in French, the brass rail at the rear retains in place the balls, mallets handles
