Cup 4th Round Tie between Liverpool and Bolton 26th January 1929 for which he was paid a fee of ?1 11 shillings and sixpence and he remarks ''ground very hard'', also Manchester United v West Ham at Old Trafford 2nd February 1929 ''continuous rain throughout match'', and other Football League matches at Bradford City & PA, Oldham, Sheffield Wednesday, Bury, Bolton, Nelson, Leeds, Halifax, York, Blackburn, Sheffield United, and at Manchester City where as a linesman for the visit of Burnley he ''2nd half, referee awarded Burnley a goal but disallowed it on consulting myself as centre-forward was offside [a 'homer', perhaps!!!]'', also various minor league fixtures
