The match ball from the Italy v England international played in Turin 16th May 1948, a Penova of Torino yellow leather football with various printed manufacturer's marks, inscribed in biro ENGLAND ITALY, TURIN MAY 16TH 948, also bearing various autographs but now very faded, deflated England recorded a stunning 4-0 victory over Italy in Turin which is arguably England's greatest victory on foreign soil with Italy being double reigning World Champions and also Olympic Champions. The match ball was kept by Arsenal's Lawrie Scott as memento of the game and has remained in the family to this day.
