A 9ct. gold Football League long service medal, inscribed THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE, LONG SERVICE, W. ANDERSON, ASSISTANT MANAGER AND MANAGER, LINCOLN CITY, 1947-1966, ASSISTANT MANAGER, NOTTINGHAM FORREST [sic], 1966-1968, in original fitted case Bill Anderson is the longest serving manager in the history of Lincoln City FC. His finest achievement was winning the Third Division (North) League Championship in 1948-49 with a dramatic last match victory over Hartlepool at Sincil Bank. During Anderson's reign The Imps spent many seasons in the Second Division, but have not achieved this since 1960-61.
