A silver rose bowl, by Walker & Hall, Sheffield, 1939, decorated with chevrons beneath rim and three fluted bands, the turned wood base mounted with a silver plaque inscribed Presented by the Football Association to Harry H. Hughes Esq, in recognition of valuable service rendered by him in connection with the Association's Tour to South Africa, May-July 1939, height of bowl 12.5cm., 5in.; sold together with a silver cup trophy, hallmark indistinct, engraved with the Arms of the Cheshire Football Association and inscribed C.F.A., 1878 -1928, H.H. Hughes, on turned wood base, height of trophy 18cm., 7in. (4) The cup trophy sold in this lot celebrates the C.F.A.'s Golden Jubilee.
