The autograph of 'Babe' Mildred Ella Didrikson Zaharias, rare, signed in ink and dated 1st August 1939 Babe Didrikson was an American athlete considered by many to have been the greatest all-round female athlete of all time, achieving outstanding success in track and field, golf and basketball. As well as being an accomplished basketball player, at the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles she won two golds in the 80m hurdles and the javelin and a silver in the high jump. She then turned her attention to golf and was the outstanding lady player of the 1940s and 1950s winning a career total of 82 tournaments.
