A medium-sized 1966 World Cup stadium flag, the centre of the white linen flag stitched with a circular printed cotton panel bearing the official 1966 World Cup insignia, strung for flying, 91.5 by 183cm., 36 by 72in. Although smaller than the usual 1966 World Cup stadium flag (see lot 951), this example was made to a higher specification with the insignia printed on cotton and applied to the flag, rather than printed directly on to the linen.
