Enquire nowOfficial press accreditation for the 1958, 1962 and 1966 World Cups, issued to John Camkin (3) John Camkin was the son of Birmingham City managing director Bill Camkin (see lot) who began his journalistic career at the Leamington Courier. In 1953 he succeeded Charles Buchan as football correspondent for the News Chronicle and when that paper closed transferred to the Daily Mail. In 1962 he joined Anglia TV as a commentator and also commentated for BBC radio for seven years and covered all the World Cups between 1954 and 1966. He became a director of Coventry City FC in 1962 and was also asked to form the League Managers' Association, becoming their first Chief Executive, working closely with Howard Wilkinson and Alex Ferguson.
