Nigel Mansell's 1998 BTCC Ford Mondeo steering wheel, as removed from the car following his accidents at Brands Hatch and signed by him in white marker pen, still bearing fire extinguisher foam stains and retaining three coloured buttons labelled Radio, Reset and Brake, now fitted to a wooden stand and base, 30cm. diameter. Mansell briefly returned to racing for the 1998 British Touring Car Championship. Despite leading a wet race at Donington, his car was not fully competitive and, suffering two accidents in two races at Brands Hatch, he quit after the third round at Silverstone. Provenance: Donated by Ford Motorsport to a BEN charity auction at Brooklands.
