A framed display of Jaques 'Ping Pong or Gossima - The New Table Game' circa 1900, as used in the stage set of Simon Block's play Not a Game for Boys, performed at the Royal Court Theatre, London, in the mid-1990s, 71 by 54cm., 28 by 21 1/4in.; sold together with a boxed set of 'The New Game of Whiff-Waff or Table-Tennis by Slazenger & Son Ltd circa 1900, with two fine 'Cumberland' battledores, turned posts with heavy brass fittings, net and two balls in tube, a description of the game and the rules are printed inside the lid, box complete but in need of repair (2) In Whiff-Waff, service is made directly over the net and the score is kept as in lawn tennis.
