A 1908 black-edged 'memorial card' issued with reference to Fulham Football Club's 'doleful remembrance' of Manchester City and Manchester United football clubs, printed both sides with a horse-drawn hearse motif and a poem, one side for City, the other for United; sold together with a double-page removed from the 'Manchester Programme' dated 16th November 1925, printed with the fixtures lists for Manchester City and Manchester United in season 1925-26 with results and attendance updated till 7th November The memorial card in this lot was printed with reference to Fulham FC who in the 1907-08 F.A. Cup competition pulled off a notable double by defeating Manchester City 3-1 in a third round replay and then beating their city neighbours Manchester United 2-1 in the fourth round. Manchester United were crowned League Champions for the first time in their history in season 1907-08. The Manchester Programme in this lot relates to the 1925-26 season which was one of mixed fortunes for City, having been relegated from the First Division but reaching the F.A. Cup final at Wembley.
