That’s a wrap! We've reached the end of the auction and we’re busy tying up final bids behind the scenes. Thanks for being part of it — we’ll be in touch soon.

Juliet McLeod (Born 1917) AURELIUS (THE 1961 ST LEGER WINNER) signed & dated 1961, oil on canvas, framed 63.5 by 76cm., 25 by 30in. Aurelius was a bay colt foaled in 1958 by Aureole out of Niobe II. He won the St Leger in 1961 and six other flat races including the Craven Stakes, the King Edward VII Stakes and the Hardwicke Stakes. Most unusually for a Classic winner, Aurelius also won three times over hurdles, twice over fences, and finished second in a Champion Hurdle. Aurelius was owned by Mrs V Lilley, trained at Newmarket by Noel Murless and ridden by Lester Piggott when winning the St Leger.
