Roy Nockolds (1911-1978) WHITNEY STRAIGHT, DUESENBERG, BROOKLANDS 1934 signed, oil on canvas, 50 by 76cm., 20 by 30in., framed The Type 91 Duesenberg became the fourth fastest car ever to lap the Brooklands Outer Circuit when Whitney Straight completed a lap at 138.15mph on 13th October 1934. He achieved it in this red-painted 1932 American track racer, purchased from the Scuderia Ferrari, despite the unsuitability of its chassis.
