The 'Frindometer', an improvised cricket scoreboard, cardboard and paper design devised and put together by Bill Frindall for the benefit of the TMS team when it was not possible to see the main scoreboard from the commentary box (qty.) The 'Frindometer' was born during a famous moment in TMS history when the team arrived at Headingley to discover that they couldn't see the ground's scoreboard from the commentary box, a major inconvenience for any commentator. So on the evening following the first day's play, Biill constructed a miniature scoreboard using his hotel room's laundry list. He then operated it for the commentary team for the remainder of the Test Match. It was duly Christened the 'Frindometer' and proved to be the focus of much on air comment and hilarity for the remainder of the game.
