In Juventus's home leg they recorded a 1-0 victory through a goal by Boksic in the 34th minute. Juventus then secured a famous double over United by winning 1-0 at Old Trafford, this time through a Del Piero penalty. This was Christian Vieri's one and only season at Juventus, making his Juventus shirts rare. He made 23 appearances and scored 8 goals. In 1997-98 he moved to Atletico Madrid.
