R. Anscomb (20th century) MELD (W.H. CARR UP) oil painting over a photographic base, image 28 by 36cm., 11 by 14in., mounted, framed & glazed, a Fores Ltd label to the backboard Meld completed the Fillies' Triple Crown in 1955 by winning the 1,000 Guineas, the Oaks and the St Leger. She was owned by Lady Zia Wernher of ''Brown Jack'' fame. Meld's sire was Alycidon, see next lot.
