A silver cigarette case presented to Bobby Walker on the occasion of the Scotland v England international at Hampden Park 23rd March 1912, hallmarked silver, inscribed WEEKLY MAIL MERIT AWARD, ROBT. WALKER, SCOTLAND V ENGLAND, MARCH 23 1912, length 8cm., 3 1/4in. Robert Walker made 29 international appearances for Scotland and was Heart of Midlothian's most capped player right up until recent times when his record was finally eclipsed by Steven Pressley. A prolific goalscorer, Walker netted 311 times in 461 appearances for the Edinburgh club.
