A French spelter figure of a rugby player circa 1924, the base signed A G, mounted on a 'marbled' circular wooden plinth set with a plaque inscribed, FOOT-BALL, PAR GUILLERMIN, height 40cm., 16in. This figure was almost certainly produced at the time of the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris in which rugby was one of the events.
