*** Ordonez LYPHARITA signed, oil on canvas, unframed, 51 by 61cm., 20 by 24in. Lypharita was a bay filly foaled in 1982 by Lightning out of Gracefully. She was trained in France by Andre Fabre and Lester Piggott rode the filly to victory in the 1985 Prix de Dian Hermes (French Oaks) beating Fitnah by a short-head in a desperate finish. The following season Lypharita won the Prix de Coulonges at Maisons-Laffitte and the Prix Chaumont at Chantilly. The owner Mr Luay-Tewfik Al Swaidi then sold the filly to Sheikh Mohammed for $1.2 million.
