John Connelly's spare Burnley No.7 jersey from the 1962 F.A. Cup final, by Umbro, claret & blue, short-sleeved, the badge inscribed WEMBLEY, 1962 In 1962 Tottenham Hotspur won the F.A. Cup final for the second year in succession, defeating Burnley 3-1. For an example of a shirt of Burnley's opponents see the previous lot. John Connelly played for Burnley between 1956 and 1964, winning a League Championship medal in 1959-60 and a F.A. Cup runner's up medal in 1962. Having made 265 senior appearances and scoring 105 goals, Connelly transferred to Manchester United before having spells with Blackburn Rovers and Bury. He also won 20 England international caps, scoring 7 goals, and was a member of the 1966 World Cup squad, playing in the opening match v Uruguay. This proved to be his final appearance in an England shirt.
