A silver FIFA 1950 World Cup medal presented to the Uruguayan squad member Juan Burgueno, inscribed F.I.F.A, COUPE JULES RIMET, WORLD CUP, BRASIL, 1950, JUAN BURGUENO Juan Burgueno was a member of the Uruguayan football squad that won the World Cup in Brazil in 1950, but was never selected and did not play in any of the games during the tournament. It is believed that the Uruguayan F.A. commissioned additional FIFA World Cup medals, in silver as opposed to gold, to award to squad players and perhaps officials involved in the achievement.
