A silver salver presented to Arsenal's Tom Whittaker by the Austrian Football Association in 1932, hallmarked, inscribed TO T.J. WHITTAKER, ARSENAL F.C., FOR EXCELLENT SERVICES RENDERED, FROM AUSTRIAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION, 7th DECEMBER 1932, 25.5cm., 10in. diameter The 7th December is the date of the Austria's international match v England that was played at Stamford Bridge, the visitors losing 4-3 in an exciting game. It is presumed therefore that Tom Whittaker had been assisting with the coaching of the Austrian team in England prior to the game.
