Israel v Wales World Cup play-off match programme 15th January 1958, played in Tel Aviv Due to various teams refusing to play Israel in their Asian qualifying campaign, it was decided to stage a play-off Between Israel and a European team that had finished runners-up in their qualification group. This was decided by lots with Wales being the team drawn. They then proceeded to reach their one and only appearance at a World Cup finals by beating Israel over two legs.
