Chambers of Blackburn Rovers, inscribed LANCASHIRE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION, 1898, RUNNERS UP, BLACKBURN ROVERS, P.CHAMBERS In the 1898 Lancashire Senior Cup final Blackburn Rovers were beaten by 2-1 by Newton Heath (later Manchester United). The match was played at Goodison Park before 5,000 spectators. For Newton Heath this win represented the highest honour achieved so far in their history.
