A purple Royal Indian Engineering College rugby cap for season 1895-96, with crown and inscribed RIEC and dated, recipient unknown In the 1870s and 1880s the College rugby team, sometimes referred to as Cooper's Hill after it's Surrey location, was amongst the most prominent rugby clubs in England and produced eight capped English international players and one Scottish international whilst attending the college.
