Start a valuationA 9ct. gold cigarette case presented to the boxer Jim Driscoll in 1911 to commemorate his winning of the Lonsdale Belt, hallmarked Chester 1909, the rear case inscribed PRESENTED TO JIM DRISCOLL, BY HIS FELLOW MEMBERS OF THE BADMINTON CLUB, ON THE 30th JANUARY 1911, TO COMMEMORATE HIS WINNING OF THE LONSDALE BELT, FOR THE FEATHER-WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP OF ENGLAND, the front case engraved with a monogram, 8.5 by 7.5cm., 3 1/2 by 3in., weight 75gr., 2oz. 8dwt.; sold with a photocopy of a letter from Christie's where the case was bought at an auction 12th May 1954 (2) Jim Driscoll known as 'Peerless Jim' was a Welsh featherweight born in Cardiff 15th December 1880. He won 58 of his 77 fights and was British, European & Empire Champion.
