Gaelic football: a group of eight medals won by the Roscommon forward Harry Penney , comprising: a 9ct. gold All Ireland Minor Football Championship winner's medal 1951; together with seven various silver medals for minor and senior Football Championships dating between 1949 and 1952. The 1951 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship was played at Croke Park, Dublin, 16th December 1951. Roscommon recorded a 2-7 to 1-5 victory over Armagh. Amongst the Roscommon goalscorers was Harry Penney (1-2). The team got a tremendous welcome home to Roscommon when bonfires were lit across the county, and they received addresses of tribute in Knockcroghery.
