A Victorian silver vesta case later set with an oval enamel portrait of the royal jockey Herbert Jones, hallmarked Birmingham 1898, hinged lid, roughened underside for striking, 4.5cm., 1 3/4in. The enamel portrait was in all probability applied to the vesta circa 1909 following Jones's achievements with the king's horse Minoru.
