Wembley Stadium (1923) Architectural Salvage: an ornamental door panel from the Royal Retiring Room, the 1923 panel with compartmented Tudor Rose design was originally lacquered and part-inlaid with tortoiseshell material, but sealed off and covered with plywood - as was the fashion - for the 1948 Olympic Games, and with replacement plywood applied in more recent times, the plywood has now been partially stripped back to reveal the original 1923 detailing, 201 by 94cm., 79 by 37in. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Please note that this lot will not be on view at Sotheby's prior to the sale. It will be possible to view the lot in situ, please contact the auctioneer for further details.
