His first solo exhibition was at the Piccadilly Arts Club in 1929. Watson taught P.E. and arts at Millbank Demonstration School 1930-36. The artist was also a part-time mural painter 1935-39 training at City and Guilds Art School, completing murals in Lambeth Public Library and elsewhere 1935-58.
