A rare signed Vanity Fair print of the Champion Billiards player John Roberts Jnr., the signature in ink and inscribed ON THE SPOT, a Spy cartoon published 4 April 1885, mounted, framed & glazed, overall 55 by 42m., 22 by 17in. John Roberts Jnr. (1847-1919) was the dominant English professional billiards player of his day. He was also a manufacturer of billiards equipment. There were two variants of the sport ''all-in'' and ''Spot-barred''. Roberts competed in the latter an in 1884 recorded a record score of 360.
