Henry Cockburn's 1950 World Cup England cap, inscribed WORLD CUP, 1950 TOURNAMENT; sold with a signed letter of provenance from the present vendor (2) Manchester United's Henry Cockburn was selected for the England squad at their first World Cup appearance in 1950 but did not start in any of England's three games. For the sake of his reputation this was probably not a bad thing as England crashed out in a campaign that reached its nadir with a 1-0 defeat by the USA.
