A very rare Chelsea away programme versus La Chaux-de-Fonds-Etolie played at the Parc des Sports de la Charriere, Switzerland, 5th June 1946, 4-pager, team-changes & horizontal & vertical folds but overall in good condition Chelsea played three games in Switzerland during their 1946 Summer Tour, the others being against a combined team of Grasshopper & Basel, and the concluding game against St Gallen. All programmes from this tour are rarities and the auctioneer cannot recall an example of the present programme being offered for auction before, not even in the Scott Cheshire sale. La Chaux-de-Fonds-Etoile was a select XI of players comprising from the town's two football clubs FC La Chaux-de-Fonds & FC Etoile La Chaux-de-Fonds. Until about 1960 the town was considered to be the world's capital of the clock making industry.
