A rare and early Sheffield Football Club ticket for the Athletics Sports Day held at Bramall Lane 1st May 1871, numbered 678, the reverse signed by a Committee Member This was the 14th annual end of season Athletics Sports Day held by the Sheffield Football Club at the Bramall Lane. Sheffield FC are recognised by FIFA as being the oldest existing football club in the world, founded in 1857. They were also involved in the first ever football match at Bramall Lane when playing local rivals Hallam FC in a charity game for the Lancashire Distress Fund on 29th December 1862.
