VALENTINE In season 1905-06 Manchester United finished runners-up in the Second Division with a total of 62 points, four behind Bristol City. Bob Valentine was an interesting player in Manchester United's history as he switched to playing the round ball game from Rugby League where he played for Swinton. He was the goalkeeper during the promotion season and made just 9 appearances for the club.
