An official poster for the 1920 Antwerp Olympic Games, by Martha van Kuyck and Walter van der Ven, although only signed by the latter in the plate, a colour lithograph, large format version, produced in 17 languages this example being the German version, published by E Stockman & Co., Anvers, the image 85 by 62cm., 33 1/2 by 24 1/2in., mounted, framed & glazed, some creasing and folds, but generally good The imagery comprises flags of competing nations, the coat-of-arms of the host city, the 'discobolus' after the famous marble statue by Myron (fl.470-440 b.c.) and a panorama of Antwerp including the Tower of Notre-Dame.
