W F Perrin (20th century) REX THE ROBBER signed & titled, oil on canvas, 46 by 35.5cm., 18 by 14in., framed Although not of the highest possible class, Rex The Robber is remembered fondly by show jumping fans. The strikingly beautiful grey Anglo Arabian was a regular competitor at shows, and came close to winning the European Championships at Hickstead in 1973. The gelding and his German rider Alwin Schockemohle took the silver.
