A manuscript document relating to hunting and dated 1631, being the signed Power of Attorney from Thomas Pott, Master of the King's [Charles I] Harriers - to Robert Grymes, Merchant of London, to receive from the Exchequer due to Pott, signatures of Thom. Hayes and Geo. Plukenett Scrivener, slight damage and grubby Pott was a noted huntsman and is recorded as delivering dogs to the Duke of Lorraine. The position of the Master of the King's Harrier was a Royal Household Appointment which was eventually abolished in the late 18th century. Worthy of further research.
