Luis Suarez: a red Spain No.10 international jersey worn in the match v Italy 28th February 1959, long-sleeved, embroidered Spanish badge This was a friendly match played at the Olympic Stadium, Rome. The match ended as a 1-1 draw with a Di Stefano goal being cancelled out by an 84th minute strike from Fiorentina's Francisco Lojacono. Luis Suarez played 32 times for Spain between 1957 and 1972 scoring 14 goals and was a member of the team that won the European Nations Cup in 1964. He subsequently managed the Spanish national team at U-21 level from 1980 to 1982, and the senior team between 1988 and 1991 including at Italia '90. Provenance: Christie's auction 3rd April 2007.
