A very scarce leather ball used for a game in the Tudor times probably real tennis, DISCOVERED IN A CHURCH IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE WHEN A DOORWAY BLOCKED UP AT THE TIME OF THE REFORMATION WAS REOPENED, stitched leather almost certainly stuffed with horse hair, now somewhat misshapen, the diameter approximately, therefore, is about 1 1/2 inches; sold together with the five other objects found in the church doorway, comprising: a seal bearing Tudor Coat of Arms, German token, a wooden comb, a wooden spinning top and a lead musket ball (6)
