Longport Harriers Athletics Club was formed in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, and regularly entered competitors for the major cross-country events such as those at Dunstall Park racecourse and the Midland Counties Cross-Country Championships during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as in Scottish and Welsh events.
