An early 'Longport Harriers Cup'' pewter goblet athletics trophy for the years 1898 - 1901, the bow engraved with the winners names - Joe Hall, Harry Hall and Joe Lloyd., height 22.5cm., 9in. Longport Harriers Athletics Club was formed in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, and regularly entered competitors for the major cross-country events such as those at Dunstall Park racecourse and the Midland Counties Cross-Country Championships during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as in Scottish and Welsh events.
